This program for school aged children highlights North Carolina’s history and heritage by bringing together area museums, parks, and state historic sites for two days of demonstrations and displays. Rifle demonstrations, colonial era games, blacksmithing, farming and wildlife exhibits, and 19th century chores are regular features. November 2 Dr. Charlotte Hawkins Brown Legacy Lecture Series. Local and regional scholars, artists, professional and business leaders share experiences and vision relating to the legacy of Dr. Charlotte Hawkins Brown. Stouffer Hall. 2 p.m. December 7 Christmas Open House. The museum and campus will be open to visitors to celebrate the season. Dr. Brown’s home, Canary Cottage, is decorated as it would have been for Christmas in the 1940’s. Local choirs and musicians will perform throughout the afternoon. Fun and surprises for the entire family. 1-5 p.m.
